Literacy
Volunteers of America, Inc. (LVA) is a national network of over 350 locally
based programs, supported by state and national staff. Our mission is to
change lives through literacy. Professionally trained volunteer tutors
teach Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages to courageous,
motivated adults. Literacy skills enable LVA students to be better parents,
workers and citizens. And their individual gains benefit their families,
employers and society.
