Oak Park Public Library was established as a public lending library in
1902. Today the library serves over 53,000 residents with three locations
in Oak Park, Illinois. The
4.5 square mile community of Oak Park is located eight miles west of
downtown Chicago and is nationally recognized for its commitment to
diversity and its outstanding architecture. The
Oak Park Public Library's collection includes fiction and nonfiction
titles, movies, CDs, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, reference
materials, and local history information. Oak
Park residents can apply for a free library card to check out items and
use library services. Many services are free of charge and available to
those without Oak Park Public Library cards. Please
contact Executive Director Dierdre Brennan at 708-383-8200 to discuss the many ways your lasting
gift to the library can benefit the community.
