E-mail: info@utrf.org Website: http://www.unitytemple-utrf.org The Unity Temple Restoration Foundation was organized in 1974 to preserve and restore the building. Unity Temple Unitarian Universalist Congregation, for whom the structure was built and who still owns and operates the Temple, granted an easement to the Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois in 1988 to further assist in restoration. While some restoration projects have been completed, there is still much to be done. The beautiful art glass coffered ceiling in the Temple was recently repaired and, through a generous gift of the Unity Temple Concert Series, the exterior lighting was restored. A complete study of the concrete and cantilevers is underway to prepare for their restoration. Heating and ventilating systems have been partially upgraded, but extensive mechanical work remains to be done.
